Cyanide, easily confused with cooking salt crystals thanks to its seemingly harmless appearance, was very practical and effective as a poison. Terrifyingly easy to camouflage as appetizing salt its effects are lethal. In fact, it could easily be confused with salt to flavor delicious "deadly" dishes for a last supper and it was very easy to transport, hidden in the ingenious secret compartment in Lucrezia’s famous ring.
